2017-2018 Scholarship Information

THE DEADLINE FOR ALL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2017-2018 ACADEMIC YEAR IS FRIDAY, APRIL 14 BY 5PM


    Undergraduate (CRJ)

    • The USAA Undergraduate Program Scholarship in Criminal Justice

    This scholarship is available to incoming or current undergraduate students with a declared major in Criminal Justice.  Students must be enrolled full-time and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Applicants must show demonstrated financial need, verified through the filing of a FAFSA application.

    USAA Undergraduate Program Scholarship APPLICATION


    • The Border Patrol Agent Ricardo Salinas Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to undergraduate students who are Texas residents and will be classified as a junior or senior in the scholarship year with a declared major in criminal justice.  Students must be enrolled full-time and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.  Applicants must show demonstrated financial need, determined by the UTSA Office of Student Financial Aid.

    • Criminal Justice Competitive Scholarship

      This scholarship is available to degree-seeking undergraduate students with a declared Criminal Justice major. Undergraduate students must be a full-time student (12 credit hours) during the scholarship semester(s). Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.

    • The Canseco Scholarship Fund for Laredo, TX 

    All COPP majors are eligible.  You must have graduated from a high school in Webb County, Texas or be a current resident of Webb County at the time of application.
    The Canseco Scholarship Fund is administered by the Dean's office.

    • COPP Scholar Award (for newly admitted first time freshmen and transfer students)

    The College of Public Policy also offers the COPP Scholar Award to newly admitted first time freshmen and transfer students in the fall semester.  The COPP Scholars Program was created by the College of Public Policy in 2014 as a way to provide financial support to outstanding students and attract the state’s highest achieving students.  This award comes with a $1,000 stipend to be applied towards tuition and fees, as long as the students maintain a good academic standing.   Eligibility is based on SAT or ACT scores, high school class rank and/or transfer GPA.  For questions regarding COPP Scholar award, contact (210) 458-2530 or email copp@utsa.edu


    Graduate (MSCJC)

    • Criminal Justice Competitive Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to degree-seeking students in the Master of Science in Criminal Justice and Criminology (MSCJC) at the University of Texas at San Antonio and must be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours of course work during the scholarship semester(s).  New graduate students must have a GPA of 3.25 from their undergraduate institution.  
    2017-18 CRJ Competitive Scholarship APPLICATION

    • Juanita Firestone Endowed Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to students pursuing a graduate degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology, Public Administration, Sociology, or Social Work. Applicants must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per scholarship semester and have a GPA > 3.0. The Juanita Firestone Scholarship is administered by the Dean's office.
