Jennifer Alexander joined the department faculty as Associate Professor and Graduate Advisor of Record in Fall 2012.  Dr. Alexander has published in the area of administrative responsibility, discretion, nonprofit/public partnerships and the political capacity of nonprofit organizations.  She teaches nonprofit management, organizational behavior, ethics and public administration theory.  Dr. Alexander comes to the department from Cleveland State University, where she served as MPA Director of the MPA program and the Nonprofit degree program.  She was awarded the 2001 Article Award by "Nonprofit & Voluntary Sector Quarterly," was a Fulbright Scholar in Colombia in 2011 and awarded the ASPA Presidential Merit Award in 2008.  She has also received recognition for grant funding from the Graduate School at Cleveland State University four years in a row (2004-2007).

Research Interests

Public administration theory, administrative responsibility and discretion, the political role of nonprofits (citizenship, advocacy, policy implementation), public budgeting, ethics, social equity and race.
