Dr. Hoffman’s research focuses on the physical and mental health of at-risk and minority youth, with a particular emphasis on Spanish-speaking global populations. He is currently a faculty affiliate with the Institute for Health Disparities Research, has worked previously as a post-doctoral fellow at the Center for Child and Family Well-Being, and was employed as a health disparities training intern while at the Southwest Interdisciplinary Research Center. His current projects include a health literacy study among high school youth in Guatemala and a health and well-being study among youth in Mexico. Additional research interests of Dr. Hoffman include health-related quality of life, suicidal ideation, and mental health literacy.
