Maria Veronica Elias joined the department of Public Administration at UTSA in Fall 2017.  She previously taught at Eastern Washington University, Department of Planning and Public Administration and at Indiana University-Purdue, Fort Wayne, School of Public Policy.  Prior to that, she worked at the Akron Police Department in the Planning, Research and Development Office. Her research lies in the areas of public administration theory and epistemology, participatory processes in governance, community organizing, and deliberative democracy.  She serves as peer reviewer for several national and international scholarly journals in public administration, public policy, geography and urban planning.  Her recent publications appear in Administration and Society, Public Administration and Management, Public Administration Theory & Praxis, and The International Journal of Technology, Knowledge and Society.
